We've got loads of UCF coverage in today's edition of the Orlando Sentinel. In addition to the interview with Coach George O'Leary that was posted early for blog readers, we have an extensive Conference USA football preview leading up to the league's electronic media days next week. – East Carolina Coach Skip Holtz is well aware no team has repeated as C-USA champs with the current league membership. The Pirates hope to end that streak and are the favorites to repeat as conference championos, but Houston, Southern Miss, UAB and even UCF all have the potential to topple East Carolina.
– Click here to check out some notes about the upcoming C-USA season. UCF senior defensive lineman Torrell Troup (above in a Sentinel file photo) makes my list of the top five players in the league. UCF also hosts one of the best nonconference games of the year when the Knights take on Miami. Both teams should be much improved, but UCF still has a strong chance of finally beating a BCS foe at home.
